North Dakota State University - Bolley Agricultural Laboratory

North Dakota State University’s major Bolley Agricultural Laboratory project includes three high-performance research greenhouse ranges designed and manufactured by Albert J. Lauer, a premier greenhouse manufacture specializing in all-aluminum institutional and research greenhouses. Quality Structures partnered with Albert J. Lauer to supply skilled labor and ultimately took full responsibility for erecting the final range.

We arrived on site in August 2025. Lauer’s temporary crew had the first range largely complete. Working closely with their foreman, we assisted in finishing the second range by early winter. When Lauer’s other large projects required their focus elsewhere, they asked us to take over construction of the third range entirely. In December 2025 we began setting columns and spent the entire winter erecting the structure through snow, extreme cold, and wind chills of –30°F. We lost only one week and a several days to weather the whole winter.

As spring arrived we moved into glazing and interior build-out, completing the project to a high standard by the end of April 2026. The finished greenhouses now form a key component of the Bolley Ag Lab and support advanced agricultural research at NDSU. Albert J. Lauer has been very pleased with the quality of our work, and we continue our strong partnership with them on other projects. It was a privilege to contribute to this significant facility.
